Hmong Association for Scientific Research
I serve as an executive committee member for the Hmong Association for Scientific Research (HASR) which is dedicated to fostering a culture of curiosity, exploration, and inclusivity within the Hmong community and other similarly underrepresented groups in scientific research. Our mission is to inspire and support Hmong students and professionals in all stages of their scientific careers through community engagement, mentorship, and the dissemination of impactful research. By empowering the Hmong community and nurturing a passion for discovery, we strive to cultivate a future where Hmong individuals play a vital role in shaping the landscape of scientific advancement.
Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS)
I helped to recruit minoritized scientists to complete their PhDs at CU Boulder. In addition, I served as a poster judge for the Computational and Systems Biology session and a session Chair for the Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry oral session and the Developmental Biology and Genetics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics and Neuroscience oral session.
Postdoctoral Association of Colorado (PAC)
I served as Communications Officer during the 2023-2024 academic year and my duties included advocating for local postdoctoral researchers, organizing and disseminating information regarding upcoming events, managing the association’s website and social media accounts, and managing travel and outreach grant awards. Currently I am a peer mentor for new postdoctoral researchers in the Boulder area and am helping them transition to postdoctoral life.
